If Americans didn't go big, they wouldn't be Americans. It is logical that the car to deliver the pizza with the oven inside, a Chevrolet Spark that the Domino's pizza chain has undergone substantial modifications to allow the drivers to churn out the pizzas that are still hot, is their own invention.

Instead we Italians, simple but ingenious people, invented the bike oven.

And we brought it, of course, to Denmark, precisely to Copenhagen, Eden of European cyclists with 18% of journeys taking place on two wheels.

The ingenious cook-pedaler capable of so much is called Michele Lucarelli, 35, born and raised in San Costanzo, in the province of Pesaro, which love has brought far, to the Danish capital.

His project is called bike and bake, pedal and bake, inaugurated yesterday in Radhuspladesn, the town hall square in Copenhagen.

Okay, the dream of the sharp and industrious Italian who finds fortune abroad is fine, but let's be practical, what does this bike oven consist of?

In a real wood oven, as the truest of traditions dictates, placed on a bicycle together with a fridge to store the raw material of the pizzas, electrically powered with a battery similar to those of cars.

Not enough, with a small masterpiece of street food architecture, Lucarelli has also placed a series of compartments next to the oven to contain the necessary ingredients and to prepare the pizza in the best possible way.

A true itinerant pizzeria, eco-sustainable because of its pedals, which weighs 320 kilos, 4 quintals round when there is also a pizza chef on board.

Are you curious to know how the enterprising Lucarelli managed to carry out his project?

That's right, thanks to the inevitable crowfounding campaign, he collected the first 3,000 euros, after searching online for information on how to organize a laboratory and a pizza oven that can be transportable with pedals, then he turned to a Sicilian company that makes ovens and to a Danish designer who managed to combine the various technical aspects.

Yesterday in Copenhagen, the inventor, entrepreneur and eco-pizza chef received from the vice-mayor of San Costanzo a certificate of civic merit for the dissemination of local specialties. In particular, the ancient and glorious crescia d’la Stacciola, the pride of the municipality in the Pesaro area, widespread between the Marches and Umbria.
