Not easy to explain why Bake Off, conceived in 2010 by the BBC, plays the Champions League twice in England. After all, it's just a cake-based challenge for aspiring pastry chefs.

Purchased so far from fifteen different countries, in Italy, even without reaching the extent of English success, it has defended itself well since the first edition in 2013.

Thanks to the presenter Benedetta Parodi and the two judges: Enrst Knam, German super pastry chef naturalized in Milan thanks to a famous pastry-boutique, formerly the television face of Real Time with the King of Chocolate, and Clelia D'Onofrio, delightfully agée journalist, former director of the Silver Spoon.

To which, in the next edition of Bake Off Italia, starting in September, a third one will be added.

Is called Antonio Lamberto Martino, is a Sicilian baker and pastry chef from Capo d’Orlando, he is 36 years old, he has a kind face that promises to tone down the sharp character of Ernst Knam.

Graduated in Agriculture and gastronomic consultant, the new judge runs a school of bakery and confectionery art, Workshop in progress.

Martino has also been living for years with Crohn's disease, a chronic inflammatory bowel disease. Reason for which he began to study the local ancient grains. Those that have low amounts of gluten and that need a particular manual skill to be kneaded. Like hers.
