Do not say, if during your next holidays in New York, wandering around the renovated World Trade Center you should discover the second mega Eataly store, which we did not warn you about.
As reported by the New York Times, Oscar Farinetti, six years after the first opening he himself told about Dissapore, has decided to double.
Always together with Joe Bastianich and Mario Batali (celebrity chef of evident Italian origins), partners of Oscar Farinetti in all stores Eataly in North and South America, the new store is located in Tower 4. Opening scheduled for 2 August with a visit from Prime Minister Matteo Renzi.
The approach does not differ from the shops opened in recent years, with the exception of the particular attention paid to the sale of bread and baked goods: a sector that is struggling to take off outside the country's borders.
But the choice is symbolic, the new headquarters in front of Ground Zero is dedicated to bread, a symbol of peace, right in front of the park with the two fountains that recall the place where the foundations of the Twin Towers once sank.
The opening hours will be longer than usual: from 7 (therefore from breakfast) to the canonical 23.
It is no coincidence that at the top of the escalators on the third floor there is a juicy bar, with centrifuges and fruit juices, together with a dedicated bar / restaurant called Orto e Mare: sweet breakfasts with muesli and granola and savory breakfasts with pancakes, smoked salmon and eggs.
From the catering point of view, the distinctive feature of Eataly at the World Trade Center is Manzo, an Italian restaurant also in the chef in the presence of Riccardo Orfino, a chef born in 1986 already seen at LadyBù, a Milanese bistro that combines fine cuisine and buffalo mozzarella.
Other novelties that will flank the large space for the sale of fresh products: a salad bar, La Piadina, where the Romagna specialty will be freshly prepared and the L’Osteria della Pace wine bar.
The new headquarters occupies an area of 4,500 square meters, with 550 employees, for a total investment close to 30 million dollars.
