Video: This week's BEST DEALS AT LIDL! Weekly grocery haul to shop SALES and SAVE MONEY 💴 2024, March
Anonim

One account is the expense to supermarket: clear ideas, decisive purchases without long wanderings, time saved without wandering through the aisles with the same amused air you have in the bookshop.

Of course, the weekly receipt is close to three digits.

It is another thing to juggle in most popular discount store, with different lines for branded products (Milbona - cheeses; Salumeo - cured meats; Italiamo - made in Italy; Latteria - dairy products plus the now legendary Deluxe line), in addition to well-known brands sold at affordable prices, Lidl it generates needs that lead to deviate from the straight path of the list.

The chaos of boxes, the inevitable discount trash, the offers that remain such only for a few hours, the food worth finding as if you were participating in a treasure hunt do not help.

But you save, often not a little.

Okay but what are the Lidl products with the best value for money? We went, we photographed and compulsively read the ingredient lists, then tasted without prejudices, or rather without preventive classisms between first prices and “premium-price” lines.

This is the result.

Before starting, keep in mind that, as already seen with Eurospin, some articles are made for Lidl by well-known and credible companies. This is the case, for example, of the Realforno biscuits, which are produced by Balocco di Fossano (Cuneo).

10. ORGANIC PESTO

Let's clarify immediately: we are very far from the original recipe, and yet the “Genoese” pesto made for Nonna Mia, a brand product that Lidl reserves for refrigerated pastas and sauces, deserves attention.

Not so much because it is organic, but because of the concise list of ingredients and the affordable price. A fresh pesto, which is organic, good and also affordable is not easy to find, as those who followed us know when we talked about Fior Fiore Coop products.

Only extra virgin olive oil, cashew nuts, basil (18%) cheese, rice syrup, pine nuts, salt, garlic and antioxidant (ascorbic acid from organic farming).

Price per kilo: 14.92 euros

9. PUMPKIN RAVIOLI

Same line of Lidl brand products, different category. In Lidl's copious range of fresh pasta, the Nonna Mia ravioli, bronze drawn and filled with pumpkin, stands out.

Even better than those of the Deluxe line, dedicated to the top of the discount food range. This is not always the case.

Pasta ingredients (50%): durum wheat semolina, soft wheat flour type "00", 20% eggs, water. In the filling: 47% pumpkin, ricotta, breadcrumbs, butter, amaretti, soft wheat flour, grated cheese, vegetable fiber, nutmeg, flavorings.

8. TARALLUCCI

One day the lure of frankly irresistible discount snacks will find space in the study of some prestigious American university, department of sociology. We'll talk about it, be sure, let's make an appointment right now.

For the moment we are content to point out the taralli, here called "Tarallucci" with onion and bacon flavor, and in the Deluxe line version.

Made with "oo" soft wheat flour, olive oil, white wine, dehydrated fried onion, bacon, salt, extra virgin olive oil and mother yeast, they play with many cousins sold at higher prices in supermarkets

Price per kilo: 4, 95 euros

“Making square-shaped incisions in the skin of the duck fillet. Place the skin side fillet on the grill or in a pan without adding oil or butter and roast for 8 minutes, then turn the fillet and cook for another 5 minutes.

A sign of the times and of Lidl's progressive gourmet conversion: it does not just sell the exclusive cut, it also explains how not to spoil it by avoiding overcooking it.

For the discount whims series, here is the "Barbary duck breast fillet, with skin, frozen, class A", which, if necessary, you can also sell to friends as the specialty of the chic little shop bought during a holiday at the abroad.

Price per kilo: 14.26 euros

6. ORGANIC MIXED SNACK

Amazon nuts and sultanas are very healthy, especially if eaten in small doses and away from meals. Supporters of the all white meat diet, lean fish, vegetables, soy and, in fact, dried fruit, who at the right time, instead of killing hunger to the sound of filth, pull out the package at the right time.

It happens that dried fruit is not cheap, but Lidl distributes it at a good price, taking advantage of the entirely organic Alesto line. The combination of fruit also seems successful: 48% sultanas, 13% cashew nuts, 13% hazelnuts, 13% almonds, 13% walnuts.

Price per kilo: 15.92 euros

5. OREGANO IN LEAVES

It is not often that you find oregano leaves in the supermarket. Or rather, it depends on where you are, at Esslunga there is more or less always. We did not expect to find it at Lidl, at a covenient price, in the decent fruit and vegetable department.

Of course, we're not talking about a hymn to seasonality and kilometer zero, but we have worse memories associated with salad pallets at discount stores.

In any case, the branches of oregano come from a cooperative of producers in the Catania area, put on pizza are another story compared to the leaves in a jar.

Price per kilo: 56.33 euros

4. SPICY GORGONZOLA

We told you that Igor Gorgonzola is not one of our favorites, but the spicy version should be promoted. Also because of gorgonzola with these characteristics, available in trays, there are few.

Anyway, if we go back to Igor it is also because behind the production of the already dosed “Spicy Gorgonzola DOP”, there is a famous company from the Novara area. You don't have to be Jessica Fletcher to find out, just read the addresses on the counter-label.

Price per kilo: 9.95 euros

3. DE CECCO WHOLEMEAL PASTA

We do not want to know by which astral conjunction, we imagine of great rarity, the De Cecco brand, fresh winner of our Tasting test dedicated to wholemeal pasta, is present on the Lidl shelves. And on offer, too.

Instead we would have liked to know, and gladly, how much the pasta cost, but the price was not displayed, well (we asked for it anyway, mind you)

It is surprising that there is because at Lidl the most popular brands of pasta and bread, for example Barilla and Mulino Bianco, are only available in the white version. At a very affordable price.

Instead, De Decco, in the penne rigate format, appears as a small vision for us lovers of wholemeal pasta, ready to argue that the gap with the other pasta, the more consumed one, has been greatly reduced.

A clear sign that for famous brands it is no longer unseemly to be found in discount stores. It is no coincidence that we have seen Calvé sauce, Nostromo tuna, RedBull, Kinder snacks and various chocolate-based bars: Nippon and Mars in the first place.

Price per kilo: 2.25 cents

2. FONTINA DOP

You who buy Fontal, a semi-hard cheese with a vaguely plasticky orange skin, have no more excuses. At Lidl you can find the real Fontina keeping the shopping under control.

By true Fontina we mean the DOP, Aosta Valley, which smells as it should, makes the difference in fondues, and even raw. Lidl distributes it in the Italiamo line, along with respectable burrata, quartirolo and pecorino cheeses.

Price per kilo: 13.56

1. TAGGIASCHE OLIVE PATÉ

Let's say things as they are: many products of the Deluxe line throw it on the fashionist rather than on the iron quality. Between single-serving semifreddo dishes that seem to come from the catering of a chic wedding, and sauces that clearly mimic cheese compotes (without being so), there is a lot of curious but only something to recommend.

The jar of olive pate with a list of ingredients to make your eyes pop out positively amazes. At least after reading the price.

Ingredients: 89% of pitted Taggiasca olives in brine, 10% of EVO oil, salt, aromatic plants, acidity regulator (citric acid).

Price per kilo: 9.94 euros.
