230 shops, 25 restaurants, 500 permanent workplaces, one million square meters (as much as the area of Expo 2015), 15 million visitors expected every year, 6,000 parking spaces, investments of 500 million euros.
Opening earlier than expected, or the day after tomorrow, at 9 from Thursday 14 April.
These are the decidedly impressive numbers of what we all, including us, thought it would be called Arese Shopping Center, the largest shopping center in Italy following the example of the American maxi malls.
The name will actually be The center, the official site leaves no doubt.
Wanted in the area that once belonged to Alfa Romeo, just outside Milan, by Marco Brunelli, eighty-eight, a pioneer of Italian large-scale distribution, behind successes such as Gs and Finiper, as well as Esselunga, founded in 1957 together with Nelson Rockefeller and Bernardo Caprotti, it was designed by Davide Padoa together with Michele De Lucchi and Arnaldo Zappa.
Code definition: "the most beautiful Hyper in the world".
Inside there are also a sports center with a skate track, a diagnostic center and a cycle path that connects it to Arese, while among the 230 expected stores there are at least a couple of absolute debuts: the first Italian Lego Store and the landing by Primark, a fast fashion clothing chain, a direct competitor of Zara and H&M.
As expected, the space reserved for catering is even impressive, here are all the spaces dedicated to food that you will find inside Il Centro.
100 Montaditos:
Small sandwiches with a hundred different fillings, from Serrano ham to Cajun chicken, from squid to salmon, from Iberian cheese to green peppers. Then tortillas, chicken wings and sweets.
Founded in 2000 with a restaurant on the beach of Huelva, the Spanish chain now has over 400 places in Europe, North America and South America. In Italy there are about twenty clubs, but the goal is to reach up to 100 restaurants in franchise by the end of 2017.
Each sandwich has a cost that varies from 1 euro to 2, 50 euro, while once a week thanks to a promotion it is possible to order any sandwich, or montadito, at the fixed price of 1 euro.
Alice Pizza:
80 flavors of pizza in 50 shops where pizza is unusually good (and beautiful) for a franchise with similar numbers, founded by the Roman Domenico Giovannini. Among the teachers who form the affiliates of the brand also the super pizza chef Gabriele Bonci.
Milani coffee:
Born in 1937, the superior quality Milani coffee comes from a small shop in the center of Como. Today it is a large coffee import and roasting company with 80 years of history behind it, both for private individuals and for Ho. Re. Ca.
In the coffee shops there are single-origin coffees (including Brasile Santos, Jamaica Blue Mountain, Guatemala Antigua) and premium blends (such as Caffè & Caffè and Milani n.1).
Italian chocolates:
It is proposed as the first Italian concept of chocolate, which is presented simultaneously in the form of ice cream, coffee, desserts and pasta.
It has seven stores in Italy and three in the Middle East, where it is particularly appreciated. The strong point is the show cooking: everything is prepared in visible workshops.
Cremamore
The ice cream shops of the Iper group present in the shopping centers in conjunction with the Brunelli brand (ice cream brand also available in the take-away 'jar' version)
Daddy Nosh
Pantry Emilia:
Traditional Tigelleria with a seasonal menu, complemented by first courses, salads and a cellar stocked with Emilian wines. Declared objective: to bring back the Emilian tradition and a climate of healthy conviviality.
Domori:
Spearhead of the Illy group, it has a relatively young history: the company, founded in 1997 by Gianluca Franzoni returning from a fascinating journey to Venezuela on the cocoa routes, offers artisanal chocolate of the highest quality, taking into account the biodiversity of cocoa.
Eataly:
do you need any introduction?
KFC (Kentucky Fried Chicken)
The colonel, the symbol of KFC, brings fried chicken in every variation. The chicken recipe was never made known: it is only said to be composed of a mixture of 11 herbs and flavors. Much loved abroad, it is also in Italy with two stores (Turin and Rome).
Illy:
The Piadineria:
Lindt:
McDonald's:
Nespresso:
Picard:
A frozen food giant opens his shop in Arese; born in France in the 1900s as an ice maker and distributor, it then moved on to frozen foods. The range of products goes from sweet to savory, from breakfast to appetizers. In Italy, it is present with 39 points of sale located throughout the peninsula.

Signorvino:
It was born as an Italian wine eshop owned by the Calzedonia brand. It then becomes a real shop with a wine park made up of 1500 of the main Italian labels.
Splinting:
The idea of the walking stick made of fruit from certified Slow Food presidia, PGI and PDO products comes from Sicily.
The offer is varied: they range from Fruit for walking (with 60% fruit not treated by pesticides), cream for walking (without emulsifiers and lactose), and traditional Capricci (traditional sweets on a stick, such as Ricotta and Pear, Cheesecake, Sacher with mandarin).
Wiener Haus:
Wiener Haus is the brewery-restaurant in continental Europe. It is part of Cigierre, founded in 1995 and currently a leader in large-scale ethnic catering, mainly in shopping centers.
Wiener Haus has as its strong point its "Wiener", which is a beaten, breaded and crispy steak, the classic Viennese.

"Sunday going to mass …". The chorus of that song is no longer fashionable for obvious temporal issues and for other more strictly technical ones.
