The success of Caffè Stern also contributes to confirming the recent Anglo-Saxon fascination for panettone, which American confectioners and bakers have transformed into a real obsession, as reported by the New York Times.
The French cousins, Il Mattino di Padova informs us, literally fell in love with the panettone baked daily by the dozen in the Parisian restaurant (renovated by the star architect Philippe Stark) that the Alajmo family inaugurated three years ago in Paris. The recipe is the same as the panettone prepared at Le Calandre, the family's 3 Michelin star restaurant in Sarmeola di Rubano (in the province of Padua).
