There would be a way to get out of the train with Brasil on TV, the unmade lentils and the entire party attachment at all costs that forced sociality imposes on us on the last evening of the year.

Go to the restaurant, and given the opportunity, not even the first that happens.

Two questions immediately arise: do you find a place? After all it is the New Year's Eve dinner. And then: how much are you willing to spend? Here, this is not the post that answers the two questions. So what's the use of grace?

To tell you where we would go if we found a place and if the bills weren't prohibitive. Not everyone mind you, the list with the New Year's menus you are about to read starts at € 75 and stops at 1500.

And you, where would you go if you could?

15. 75 € - SPICE BISTROT - MILAN

Spice bistro, milan
Spice bistro, milan

Already at the Alchemist, in the Arco della Pace area, where the Milanese have learned to know (and unconditionally love) his dishes, Misha Sukyas, a chef of Armenian origins with a truculent appearance, enormous tattoos and frequent television appearances has returned from not much with Spice Bistrò in the Colonne di San Lorenzo area.

Meat is the protagonist of the New Year's menu with guinea fowl in offal pate and the priest's hat stuffed with stewed donkey and braised meat sauce. Impossible on paper, Cannelloni all’nduja and panettone powder.

14. 160 € - DEVERO | CAVENAGO

Devero restaurant
Devero restaurant

Enfant prodigy, predestined for haute cuisine, a chef eternally on top of his shields, Enrico Bartolini brought his idea of modern Italian cuisine to Devero, just outside Milan, built on technique and with a feverish attention to the aesthetics of the dishes.

Fish is the protagonist of the New Year's Eve menu for € 160 excluding drinks, with scallops served raw together with caviar, almonds and finger lime or ravioli with burrata, sea urchins and verbena consommé. There are two meat dishes: risotto, hare, pomegranate, cocoa and suckling lamb.

13. 170 € - THE CATHEDRAL | RAGUSA IBLA

The cathedral, Ciccio Sultano
The cathedral, Ciccio Sultano

Red shrimp with truffles, warm octopus, cuttlefish and squid salad with pork jelly and sanapuni. Ciccio Sultano's New Year's Eve menu speaks Sicilian (again he, hyperactive, in 2015 he opened a bistro, an organic chicken farm and participated in a reality TV show) and his sous-chef Marco Corallo in the Il Duomo restaurant, double star Michelin a stone's throw from the most beautiful square in Ragusa Ibla.

Do not miss the dessert: chocolate cannoncino and cinnamon ricotta with marsala ice cream. You spend € 170 excluding drinks.

12. 200 € - PERBELLINI HOUSE | VERONA

Perbellini House, Verona
Perbellini House, Verona

2015 was the year of Giancarlo Perbellini, chef, heir to a dynasty of pastry chefs, two Michelin stars re-conquered thanks to a restaurant that eliminates barriers, where the room integrates with the open kitchen, leaving customers the pleasure to discover the preparation of the dishes.

The famous tempura in Perbellini version is one of the most inviting dishes on the New Year's menu together with creamy noodles with spider crab, spinach cream and puffed Jerusalem artichoke. Also noteworthy are the meat dishes, above all the pink duck breast on a mandarin reduction, potatoes, truffle and chocolate sauce and foie gras, pistachio pesto, bitter almond and lime.

11. 240 € - EXCHANGE | TURIN

Del Cambio, Turin
Del Cambio, Turin

Prawn salad, Brussels sprouts, white rose and chickpeas, grilled foie gras with mustard and capers, even sausage and lentils on the New Year's Eve menu at unusually "humane" prices (€ 240 excluding wines) of the restaurant where Casanova, Mozart and Nietzsche.

And where Matteo Baronetto, originally from Giaveno (TO), sous-chef and alter ego of Carlo Cracco for 18 years, has managed to personalize the Piedmontese culinary tradition.

10. 240 € - GLASS HOSTARIA | ROME

Glass Hostaria, Rome
Glass Hostaria, Rome

Pay attention to the flavors but with ingredients of different nature such as fruit, vegetables, vegetables, meat and fish in the Glass New Year's menu.

After the debut of a chef in the Testaccio market and before the new (the second) Romeo Chef & Baker, Cristina Bowerman offers in the starred restaurant of the house dishes such as scampi, cauliflower and Asetra caviar, buttons stuffed with sea urchins with cheese and pepper, seasoned foie twist and mango chutney.

9. 250 € - ATMAN | LAMPORECCHIO

atman, Igles Corelli
atman, Igles Corelli

Bruno Barbieri was his suos-chef at Trigabolo in Argenta, in the prehistory of Italian haute cuisine. Then we got to know the cuisine of Igles Corelli at the Locanda della Tamerice. The second iteration of Atman, this time in the refined Lamporecchio restaurant, has just earned him a Michelin star.

The New Year's Eve menu from 250 € per person consists of refined dishes such as low-temperature egg with Parmesan zabaglione and white truffle from Alba, goose foie gras salad with vegetables in osmosis and crunchy poppy, blue lobster in ceviche and Kobe beef with winter vegetables.

8. 280 € - CASA VISSANI | BASQUE

Vivani house
Vivani house

If the room is often retouched and enriched, the cuisine has always lived up to the reputation of Gianfranco Vissani.

It will be the same with the New Year's Eve menu, including a fireworks display and live music. On the menu raw sea bass with toasted beech berries, King crab with green beans with acorn flour, Peking duck with jasmine berries and bittersweet almonds with black cherry, bitter orange.

7. 280 € - VILLA CRESPI | ORTA SAN GIULIO

Villa Crespi, Antonino Cannavacciuolo
Villa Crespi, Antonino Cannavacciuolo

Another year to frame 2015 for Antonino Cannavacciuolo, fresh rookie of Masterchef, star of Cucine da Incubo and with a new bistro recently opened in Novara.

But it is in the restaurant with two Michelin stars that Cannavacciuolo offers its New Year's Eve menu at a price of 280 euros, not too inspired by its Neapolitan origins, it seems.

Among the dishes: Sicilian scampi alla "pizzaiola" with octopus water, plin alla genovese with parmesan cream and raw Piedmontese meat, pigeon supreme, foie gras with cocoa grit, Banyuls sauce. In the small patisserie, however, there is no shortage of babà and sfogliatelle.

6. 350 € - THE CALANDERS | STEAL

Le Calandre
Le Calandre

Okay Paris, okay Venice (the dinner at the Quadri is sold-out anyway). But it is at the creative center of his empire of restaurants and clubs, namely Le Calandre, that chef Massimiliano Alajmo reserves the most ambitious New Year's menu.

How do we know? Certainly not from the dishes, since it is a surprise menu, but with the price yes: 350 euros excluding wines.

5. € 375 (£ 275) - GORDON RAMSAY | LONDON

Gordon Ramsay London
Gordon Ramsay London

A trip to London for New Year's Eve would allow you to dine at Gordon Ramsay's best restaurant, according to many experts. But watch out for the sold-out and the wallet: 275 pounds are needed.

The 12-course New Year's Eve menu is classic and inviting, including beef tartare, cavaile, yuzu and kombu seaweed, foie gras parfait with Perigord truffles and truffle linguine with poached lobster.

4. 500 € - FRANCISCAN OSTERIA | MODENA

Franciscan tavern
Franciscan tavern

It is getting all the accolades that a chef in a perennial state of grace deserves, including an international press review so pharaonic as to be the envy of a prime minister.

The prices of the Osteria Francescana have adapted to the new status, including that of the New Year's menu which includes a sequence of dishes that will leave you breathless. Fish soup, chicken and crab enclosed in a ravioli, sea bass in a double foamy sauce, mixed autumn pasta finished with white truffle, rib of beef, Mantuan pumpkin risotto.

Obviously already sold-out.

3. 945 € - IMAGO | ROME

imago hassler

Oriental and for years always very inspired, the cuisine of chef Francesco Apreda boasts many admirers in Rome, such as the scenic setting (with a view) of the Imago, the restaurant of the Hotel Hassler.

945 euros are needed (which, however, do not pay for the drinks) for the ten-course New Year's Eve menu, where the quail narrow egg fettuccine with white and gold truffle or the parmesan fluid with aged balsamic and wild strawberries stand out. Live music and dancing after midnight.

2. 1300 € - THE PERGOLA

La Pergola, Rome
La Pergola, Rome

It is the first New Year's Eve menu that we try to discover for the unattainable peaks of the price. Will the Pergola of the Hilton Hotel in Rome set a new record or not?

This year, for the modest sum of € 1,300, chef Heinz Beck has included nine precious courses on the New Year's menu. They range from amberjack marinated in white balsamic vinegar with pomegranate snow, to ossobuco essence, passing through tortellini with basil with freeze-dried mozzarella and water to tomato salad.

€ 1. 1500 - PLAZA ATHENEE | PARIS

Plaza Athénée, ducasse
Plaza Athénée, ducasse

Alain Ducasse, probably the richest chef in the world, owner of an exaggerated number of restaurants around the world, from France to Japan, beats everyone.

This year, tasting the New Year's Eve menu in his princely Parisian restaurant costs 1,500 euros (Steamed scampi with golden caviar, poached Assiseau chicken with Alba truffles and Albufera sauce, fresh truffle cheese) but with one consolation: the drinks are included.
