Amazon continues to establish itself like wildfire, establishing new trade rules. This time it does it in the oenological field by landing in the private label market, the so-called distributor brands. These wines they recorded a turnover of 156 million euros and have a market share of 14%. Five Amazon branded labels - Compass Road in packs of 6 bottles of 75 cl intended for sale.

The platform's offer includes some of the most popular wines in the world: the French Merlot, Chardonnay and Grenache, the Riesling German and also a local wine, the Pinot Grigio Garda Doc. To give the news, the specialized site Winenews, to which Amazon said: "For years, Amazon has launched its own wine section as a space available to wineries and wine e-commerce players, but now it takes a decisive step forward by launching its own wines as private labels".

In reality this is not an absolute novelty, because in 2017 the Seattle internet company had already promoted "Next" in collaboration with the USA winery King Estate of Oregon. The liquidity to invest in vineyards and cellars does not seem to be a problem, given that the company has a turnover of over 230 billion dollars and its founder has personal assets estimated at 109 billion dollars. For the future, Amazon has announced that it will distribute spirits on the English and German markets.
