The project of an American company that wants to stem the problem of hunger in the world by producing a sustainable substitute for meat. The new prototype would thus serve to solve the increase in global food demands without the need to cultivate land. The "miraculous" recipe consists in the use of air, or rather, of carbon dioxide.

It seems like a heresy, but it is not, because even the NASA, during the first flights into space, he had thought of creating food from carbon dioxide. The idea was taken up by the Air Protein company which is studying a process capable of converting the CO2 in a protein substance that has the same amino acid profile as meat.

These microorganisms are grown inside fermentation tanks where they are fed with a mixture of carbon dioxide, water and other nutrients. From the metabolism of these microorganisms, a flour with a protein content of 80% is obtained in a short time which, thanks to its neutral flavor, can be used to create meat substitutes. All this happens without animal suffering and without using resources such as soil and water.

For the CEO of Air Protein, Lisa Dyson, "Meat produced from the air will be the next evolution of the sustainably produced food movement that will serve as one of the solutions to feed a growing population without straining natural resources."
