From what is learned from local sources, the municipal police of Turin had to intervene on the day of May 1st at Carrefour in Corso Montecucco, one of the largest and most popular in the city. The reason for the agents' intervention was the alleged violation of the regional ordinance of 20 April, which provided for the closure of supermarkets on Labor Day.

But upon inspection, it seems that inside the supermarket there were several operators from "Supermercato24", a company that provides a home shopping service, with a dedicated "shopper" who goes shopping for you. And here the donkey fell, because the regional ordinance allowed home delivery for May 1st, but not sales. So, the shoppers operating inside the supermarket, who were buying on behalf of third parties, were violating it.

A matter of nuances in the reading of the regulations, we agree, which is not easy to keep up with rigorously these days. Carrefour thought it was a legitimate home delivery business, but the municipal police felt it was not, and ordered the store to be closed immediately.
