The very famous theme song of the equally popular Japanese cartoon (anime) Ken the warrior was born as a jingle for the commercial of one candy. The commercial, however, did not happen and then fate took its course.

To tell it to the microphones of La Repubblica Claudio Maioli, composer and voice of the theme song, which boasts a collaboration with a certain Lucio Battisti.

"The melody - says Maioli - I had written it as advertising jingle for a brand of gummy pills, which however did not go through. So, when the RCA asked me for a theme song for 'Ken the warrior', I had to do nothing but find a suitable refrain. And it became a cult theme song ".

A song that those born in the 70s and 80s - especially the boys - will surely remember with affection and nostalgia. “I first recorded a home audition singing in fake English, then the real text was written by Lucio Macchiarella. It was my first and only time as a solo vocalist. At the time I did not realize the success it had, I discovered it almost fifteen years later thanks to the love of the fans, remembers Maioli.
