Two out of three Italians declare that they go less than restaurant because of Coronavirus. The concerns of restaurateurs (already anxious about what will happen this winter with their outdoor areas) are increasing the results of a new survey carried out by Izi in collaboration with Comin & Partners.

According to the interviewees, 64% are going to restaurants less than in the period before the spread of the Coronavirus. Only 32% continue to go out to dinner as before, while for a small percentage (4%) the attendance of restaurants has increased.

The reasons for not going to restaurants anymore are obvious: the fear of contagion slows down 55% of the sample, and to follow (25%) there are economic difficulties. Restrictions on restaurants, however, also seem to play a role: 20% say that is the reason that keeps them away from the premises. In short, for some the mask makes it impossible to enjoy a dinner out.

Numbers that clearly reflect the crisis in the sector and ask questions about possible alternatives, in a year - the one we still face - in which the pandemic will probably continue to be a problem in our lives, changing our habits. For three out of four Italians (73%), in fact, the use of home deliveries has established itself as a practice that will continue even after the emergency, and 20% of respondents even think that the sector will increase further.
