Slow Fish 2021, the biennial Slow Food event dedicated to the sea and its products, will take place in presence, in the historic center of Genoa, from 1 to 4 July.

A good sign for those (and there are many of us) anxiously awaiting the return of live events, which have made us miss him too much in this long year of pandemic. After the announcement of the dates, therefore, fingers crossed until this summer, and in the meantime we wait.

The good thing about the experience of these months, however, is the ability to exploit the potential of online appointments: we saw it with the Salone del Gusto which, despite having to give up its face-to-face edition, was able to organize meetings with all the communities of the world, with a calendar that is probably unthinkable, considering only the Turin events.

For this reason, even Slow Fish, while announcing a return of the physical event, does not give up on digital appointments: international conferences - Food Talk and How is it done?, Sea Tales and Fishes out of water - available for free on the event website. The Slow Fish 2021 appointment will not only concern Genoa - whose mayor, Marco Bucci, declares himself very happy, underlining how the city focuses on the blue economy, on the sea economy, for the future development of the city - but the entire territory of Liguria, with itinerant events from West to East, organized in collaboration with the territorial network of Slow Food Liguria.

The Ligurian chefs, according to Slow Food, will offer ad hoc menus linked to the Slow Fish campaign, for example, and the producers of the Presidia will open the doors of their companies to visitors. "The organizational machine of this tenth edition is therefore underway", says Daniele Buttignol, director general of Slow Food Italy, adding that "this year Genoa will be the reference point for all Italian members", given that the Slow Food Italy National Congress (3 and 4 July).

“We have invited over 250 delegates and guests from all over Italy to the Ligurian capital, while another 500 delegates and all the other members will be able to follow the Congress by connecting live with Genoa”.
